Our new CNC Machine
At Superior Surfaces, we have recently invested in a new CNC router; a state of the art, computer controlled piece of technology that we use to thermoform and cut the solid surfaces that we fabricate.
We work to create the best quality services for our customers using our state-of-the-art CNC machine. However, unless you are familiar with CNC work, this sentence not be as impressive as you first think. So, why is CNC work for you? What are the benefits of our CNC work over our handmade work?
What is a CNC Machine
A CNC machine is a machine that utilises Computer Numerical Control over machine tools like routers, grinders or mills. Computer Numerical Control is the software that controls the machine. It is specially customised to allow precise control of features such as speed, location, coordination and feed rate. Now becoming increasingly popular, CNC is used to fabricate not only worktops, but fret work, exterior building cladding etc.
CNC cutting is extremely precise whilst using less energy, especially when cutting materials such as Corian or Richlite. Cutting with the machine gives us fantastic edge quality on all our cuts and means we can cut more accurately. Replica cuts are almost identical every time due to the accuracy of CNC cutting. In some cases, CNC cutting can even be faster that other more traditional cutting methods, whilst reducing the need for tooling to achieve the same high-quality edging.
CNC machines are low maintenance and can be used for extensive periods of time without the need for stopping. The benefit of this for you, the customer, would be that we can deliver our worktops to you faster and to a higher quality. As CNC machines are all computerised, there is a lot less room for error which means there are less chances of any complications. So, not only will our projects be delivered to you faster, they will be delivered to you at a higher standard.
CNC machining is very versatile, and the variety of work that our machines can perform leaves the opportunities endless.
